To the friends & fans of the Voodoo DeVille Blues Band,
On September 21, 2001, the Voodoo DeVille Blues Band called on its friends and fans to help us raise money to support the disaster relief efforts in New York. We promised to donate the door receipts from our September 21 performance at St. Peters Inn to the American Red Cross. ( Click Here to see some pictures from the event in our extensive Voodoo DeVille Photo Gallery.) We also asked that everyone dig a little deeper and throw a few extra dollars into the donation jar at the show. Finally, Pops and T-Bone promised to team up to match the total (and you were so generous that Pops had to suspend his monthly shipments of Slimfast -- he'll buy a bigger belt instead). Here's the final tally:

We're sure that the enormity of the tragedy of September 11 is difficult, if not impossible, for each each of us to comprehend. In the face of such tragedy, we are humbly aware that our donation pales in the face of the costs in terms of the suffering of the victims, the lost lives, the impact on the victims families, the human potential cut short, and the impact on our own lives. These costs can never be measured. However, the fact that such a relatively small number of people -- you, our friends and fans -- can come together so quickly and act so generously is a source of inspiration for us, as it should be for all of you. We know that many of you have already contributed and continue to contribute in many other ways as well, and for that we are also grateful. Let's all pledge to continue to provide our support in any way possible to those who have already suffered, and will do so in the future, on the front line in our efforts to eliminate terrorism.
Nearly all of the donations came anonymously in name and amount, so it is impossible for us to even begin to thank each of you individually. We would like to acknowledge just a few that we can -- our generous colleagues from Bentley Systems, the Brandywine Valley Ski Association, and our friends from the Birchrunville July 4 Parade. We'd also like to acknowledge the support of our international friends -- from Canada, Europe, and as far away as Australia -- who came to our show on September 21 and contributed to this worthy cause.
We are truly humbled to have had the honor to participate in this small effort with such a generous and caring group of people. It's meaning for us extends far beyond the money raised and we hope that you too share in our gratitude and satisfaction for having participated. Normally, here on the pages of the Voodoo DeVille web site, we remain somewhat anonymous behind our band names -- T-Bone, Pops, Stacks, Rooster, the Delaware Destroyer, the Professor, and Chicken Shack. But in this case, we'd like to thank you as ourselves because you have touched us in ways we can only begin to understand.
With our deepest gratitude,
Ray Bentley, Buddy Cleveland, Cliff Stackonis, George Dulchinos, John Gooding, Steve Cocchi, and Brian Preston.
