Betsy has been a dedicated teacher in the West Chester Area School District for 27 years.  She has touched the lives of numerous children with her extraordinary love of teaching.  Betsy not only taught the children in her classroom but also anyone who was lucky enough to know her.  She taught you the true meaning of love, faith, courage and laughter!</B></div> <div> <B>Betsy was diagnosed with lung cancer in August.  Unfortunately, she has lost her battle with cancer that she so desperately fought. Betsy passed away on January 18, 2002.</B></div> <div> <B>She leaves behind a loving and devoted husband, Peter, and a courageous 16-year-old son, Jacob, who suffers from Muscular Dystrophy and is confined to a wheelchair. Peter has left the teaching profession after 26 years to act as Jacob's full time aide while attending East High School.
