2005 Rolling Thunder "Day With A Vet"
May 15, 2005 was the date for Rolling Thunder's annual "Day With A Vet" at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. Rolling Thunder is a nationwide, non-profit organization whose focus is POW/MIA issues, American prisoners of war, and the quality of (or lack thereof) care and benefits for America's Veterans. They have over 7,000 members. Rolling Thunder is not a motorcycle club but it uses their motorcycles to draw attention to the Veterans issues they advocate.

Many thanks to Rolling Thunder and the Coatesville VA Medical Center for inviting us to participate. It was a real honor. Particular thanks goes to Jim Ferris, president of the Rolling Thunder chapter, Tom Zielinski who arranged the event, and Jeff Fitzsimons of the Medical Center.

The band set up at one of the quad as the Vets lined up for hamburgers and hot dogs straight from the grill.

The Rolling Thunder began arriving around 1:00pm...

On left is DJ Bill from Cobra Sound who donated his time to support the Vets and Rolling Thunder (and boy, can he sing too). On the right is a real special guest - David Dolby, a recepient of the Congressional Medal of Honor, who did 5 tours of combat duty in Viet Nam.

Here's Jeff Fitzsimons of the Medical Center keeping things organized on behalf of the Vets.
