During the evening of September 20, 2000, Voodoo DeVille played one of its biggest events ever. Bentley Systems of Exton, PA asked the boys to play at a reception held during their annual international user conference. The reception was held at the Loews Hotel in downtown Philadelphia, which recently opened in the historic PSFS Building. Obliging as always, the boys put on a hell of a show for an audience of 300 to 400 people. By the end of the evening the crowd was dancing to everything they played. The gig could have lasted all night but, after three encores and the crowd cheering for more, the sound man - a longshoreman from Jersey reputed to have mob connections - wanted to go home and pulled the plug. Given the company the sound guy allegedly kept, the boys decided not to argue with him.
